Sanoma Magazines Finland’s new weekly focused on technology, the economy, and business is to be launched at the beginning of next year. The title already has over 60,000 subscriptions and aims to become Finland’s leading technology weekly. Forty issues are planned for next year.
“This will be the most significant launch of a new title for us in the new millennium, and the title has understandably attracted a lot of attention as a result,” says Editor-in-Chief Marko Haikonen. “It has been exciting to put together an editorial team from some of the best in the field. This team, I believe, will enable us to create a product that will offer a quality read that will really stand out from other publications and at the same time help readers make the most of their careers.”
Merja Saarinen (M.Sc.(Pol.Sc.), 49) has been appointed 3T’s Editorial Manager as of 15 November. She comes to the position from Taloussanomat, where she has served as news manager and a journalist. Earlier in her career, Saarinen was editorial secretary at Seura and she is a graduate of the Sanoma School of Journalism.
Pia Hyvönen (53) has been appointed Producer-Journalist at 3T as of 1 November. She joins the magazine from Sanoma Custom Publishing, where she has been a producer. Earlier in her career, Hyvönen was news manager and a journalist at Taloussanomat and a journalist at Talouselämä.
The following have been appointed as journalists for 3T:
Johanna Aatsalo (M.Sc.(Physical Ed.), 44), as of 21 November. Aatsalo has worked as a freelance journalist for a number of years and has contributed to various Sanoma Magazines Finland titles. Earlier in her career, Aatsalo worked as a journalist for STT, Finland’s leading news agency.
Jukka Lehtinen (M.Sc.(Soc.Sc.), 38), as of 1 November. Lehtinen will transfer from Sanoma Custom Publishing, where he has worked as a producer. Earlier in his career, Lehtinen was a producer at Sanoma Magazines’ Digital Media Unit and a journalist at ITviikko, Arvopaperi, and Tekniikka&Talous.
Tero Lehto (33), as of 1 November. He will transfer from the editorial team at Tietokone.
Jukka Nortio (M.Sc.(Pol.Sc.), 49), as of 15 November. He will join 3T from Zeeland PR, where he has been Managing Director. Earlier in his career, Nortio was Communications Director at Affecto Oy, Editor-in-Chief at ITviikko, and Editorial Manager at Tietokone.
Veijo Ojanperä (M.Sc.(Soc.Sc.), 43), as of 15 November. He will join 3T from the editorial team at Prosessori.
Anna Ruohonen (M.Sc.(Pol.Sc.), 36), as of 1 January, 2012. She will join 3T from Vihreä Lanka. Earlier in her career, Ruohonen was a journalist at Taloussanomat, Talouselämä, and Tietoviikko.

3T is Sanoma Magazines Finland’s new weekly focused on technology, the economy, and business to be launched in January 2012. The magazine will cover a broad range of topical subjects and trends in Finland and worldwide, and will aim to bring new perspectives to the day-to-day work of technical specialists and decision-makers. In addition to a print magazine, the 3T offering will include online and mobile services.
3T will appear 40 times a year and will be published by Suomen Rakennuslehti Oy, a subsidiary of Finland’s leading magazine publisher, Sanoma Magazines Finland.
