Sanoma Custom Publishing revamps for growth

Sanoma Magazines Finland’s Custom Publishing Unit is to revamp its organisation as of the beginning of November. Finland’s most experienced custom publishing house and the winner of the title of top Finnish customer publisher three times in succession has also shortens its name to Sanoma Custom Publishing.

Petri Karjalainen, previously Sanoma Magazines Finland’s Director, Strategy, has been appointed Director, Sanoma Custom Publishing. He will also serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sanoma Magazines Finland’s subsidiary, Suomen Rakennuslehti Oy.

 “Our new organisation is the outcome of an ambitious growth project that we launched at Custom Publishing in the spring,” explains Petri Karjalainen. “The new organisation is designed to increase the resources we devote to developing our customer base and building new customer relationships. We also intend strengthening our content expertise by concentrating the multichannel content production and development of our titles in three content teams that will be served by a joint online development team.”  

Managing Editors Kimmo Holappa and Anne Stolt have been appointed Customer Account Managers responsible for Sanoma Custom Publishing’s current customers. Sales Manager Tanja Piipponen will be responsible for developing new customer relationships.  

Development Manager Matti Lintulahti has been appointed Director, Content at Sanoma Custom Publishing and will be responsible for managing and developing the content of the unit’s titles; he will also continue to head up the online development team.  

The three new content teams will be headed by Managing Editors Johanna Hytönen, Martti Ristimäki, and Anu Virnes-Karjalainen. Sirkka Järvenpää will serve as Manager, Producers and AD Tuulia Hyrske will continue as Manager, Graphic Designers.
