The first issue of Sanoma Magazines’ new technology weekly, 3T, will appear this Friday, 13 January. Focusing on technology, the economy, and the business world, 3T already has nearly 70,000 subscribers and will launch with an initial print run of 100,000 copies.
Sanoma Magazines’ new title, 3T, has won 16,000 additional subscribers since the announcement of its launch last August. The first issue of the magazine, due to appear this Friday, will be delivered to nearly 70,000 subscribers. The Finnish Information Processing Association, the Association of Finnish Construction Engineers and Architects, Finnish Construction Managers and Engineers, and the Finnish Association of Civil Engineers have also ordered 3T for their members, in addition to the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland (UIL). A significant proportion of subscribers to Prosessori have also switched to 3T, and the magazine’s subscription campaign, launched in November, is expected to grow the subscription base further in the future.
“There really seems to be a lot of demand for a new technology weekly,” says Heikki Nurmela, Managing Director of 3T’s publisher and Sanoma Magazines subsidiary, Suomen Rakennuslehti Oy. “The first issue is already guaranteed to reach a wide readership, and media sales have got off to a very promising start as well. The interest in 3T has exceeded our expectations, and we are excited to be starting out on the journey to make 3T Finland’s leading technology weekly.”
The three first issues of 3T in January will all have a print run of 100,000 copies. Example copies of the new title will be sent to around 30,000 technology-related decision-makers and experts.
“It’s great to have the chance to deliver on the positive expectations that 3T has generated,” says Editor-in-Chief, Marko Haikonen. “We aim to cover a broad range of technology fields from our first issue onwards, as well as the impact that on-going changes in the economy and business life are having on companies’ future prospects and the work of people in technology-related businesses.”
One of the new title’s strengths will be its visuals.
“Our use of white magazine paper will help us stand out from most other tabloids and will enable us to produce more ambitious layouts and visuals than if we were to use traditional newsprint,” explains Marko Haikonen.
The Friday print edition of 3T will be supplemented with a daily news feed on the 3T.fi Web site, which will also offer readers the chance to discuss topical issues. Subscribers will also be able to read the title as a virtual magazine on tablets and PCs.
