Jenni Järvelä, the Editor-in-Chief of regional newspaper, Kymen Sanomat, has been appointed Editorial Manager at ET-lehti. She will take up her new position at Finland’s largest general-interest magazine on 23 July.
Prior to her current position at Kymen Sanomat, Jenni Järvelä (34) served as editorial manager, head of the news desk, and a journalist at another regional newspaper, Etelä-Suomen Sanomat. Her earlier career also included working as a communications officer at the Committee for Public Information in Finland and the Academy of Finland. She holds an M.A. from the University of Jyväskylä and she is also studies at the Lappeenranta University of Technology.
“It’s both interesting and exciting to switch from a newspaper to a magazine and from the news world to a world where you have more time and space for the subjects you cover,” says Jenni Järvelä. “ET-lehti has a unique position as a title dedicated to our growing population of seniors, highlighting stories that are of particular interest to them.”
“Jenni Järvelä will bring an extensive range of expertise and vision in both print and online publication to ET-lehti, which is currently going through a major change process. Her background in the news world could not be better in this respect,” says ET-lehti’s Editor-in-Chief, Riitta Korhonen.
